BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Buried by Lava is a heavy metal band based on the Azores. Their necessity was to have a platform where they could promote themselves with more character and freedom, previously only promoting themsleves via social networks. I was responsible for designing and building the website, but having maintanence costs in considertion, trying to keep them as low as possible. So, to provide them with a solution that would propperly represent them, I began to develop this dark-looking website with some tones of orange resembling magma or lava, and using these color in call-to-action elements or simply as an accent.

In order to keep costs low, I’ve decided to discard the database, which means this project has all info present on itself: there are no api or database requests envolved. Instead, dynamic content is stored in .json files and new entries should respect the previous format in order not to break the website. I know this is NOT a glorifyed way of storing data, but since the band members don’t plan to update the website that often, and due to data not beeing sensitive and merely informational, I figured why not to take this approach and see where it takes me.
